This year, the Apple Duathlon is a qualifying event for the 2009 ITU Duathlon Short Course World Championship in Concord, NC USA Sept 24-26! Competing athletes with a USAT annual license have the chance to qualify in their age group as follows: The top 3 athletes in each age group will qualify, with roll-down spots to 6th place (roll-down spots need to be within 20% of the age group winner). $800 to be given away for "surprise" racing achievements.
$3,200 in prize money awarded to top finishers! All athletes competing for prize money (except Relay Teams) will be placed in the Elite wave and will not be eligible for age group rankings or Team USA Amateur Duathlon World Championship slots.
